Saturday, August 30, 2008, Noon to 3:00 p.m.
- 20 contestants will each sing one song of their choice.
- Judges rate singers on singing ability, appearance, stage presence, audience participation and audience reaction.
- The audience also has an opportunity to “vote” for their favorite singer by putting a dollar (or dollars) in the singer’s designated “vote jar.” (The money will be donated to the Pere Marquette Improvement Fund at the Community Foundation for Muskegon County.)
- Singers move on to the final round by scoring high with the judges and by votes (dollars) received from the audience.
- Top 12 scoring singers are announced at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday and are asked to come back and compete in the final round on Sunday, August 31st.

- Top 12 scoring singers from Saturday’s competition will each sing one song.
- Judges rate singers on singing ability, appearance, stage presence, audience participation and audience reaction.
- The audience also has an opportunity to “vote” for their favorite singer by putting a dollar (or dollars) in the singer’s designated “vote jar.” (The money will be donated to the Pere Marquette Improvement Fund.)
- In case of a tie, singers should be prepared to sing one more song.
- First, second and third place winners will be announced at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.
- The winners receive a trophy and braggin’ rights for being the Muskegon Idol Karaoke Contest Champ!
Singers are reminded that this is a family event. Singers are asked to select songs that are family-appropriate. Singers can choose a song from the karaoke selections available or can bring a CD of their own.
